Telephone Interpreting Service and Workshops

We hold Telephone Interpreting Workshops at SSCA-MNC. This gives us an opportunity to teach people how to use the Telephone Interpreting service. We provide valuable information and services for people who have little or no English language skills. We research current information available about interpreting services and gather translated information in many languages which we then make available to people coming to our Neighbourhood Centre.

We offer free interpreting services which are provided to us by the Telephone and Interpreting Translating Service - a government initiative. The Free Telephone Interpreting Service workshops teaches people how to use the Telephone Interpreting Service which assists in reducing the language barriers they're experiencing in communicating.

Tax Help and Budgeting Advice

The Tax Help program assists people on a low income to provide the Taxation Department with their Tax Returns at the end of the financial year.

Our tax help Volunteer is Soheir Shehata, our bookkeeper.

This program also encourages people to understand the process of information gathering required to complete their tax return. The numbers of clients on low incomes requesting tax help in our community increases from year to hear.

Our budgeting advice program helps people to look at their income and organise their finances to meet their needs. We also provide information about local services providing financial counselling and support.
